Holosun LS221G — Co-Axial Dual Laser Green + IR in 7075-T6 Aluminum

The Holosun LS221G is a dual-laser aiming device combining co-axially mounted 520 nm green laser (Class IIIa) and 830 nm IR laser (Class 2M) in a 7075-T6 aluminum housing with an integrated QD Picatinny mount. It is the aluminum-bodied counterpart to the titanium LE221-GR — identical laser system and zeroing mechanics, at a lower weight and a more accessible price point. The LS221G is the practical choice for users who need full dual-channel day-to-night targeting capability without the premium cost of the Elite titanium series.

Co-axial emitter placement ensures that zeroing the visible green laser in daylight simultaneously aligns the IR channel — a single zeroing session covers both wavelengths with no separate NV procedure.

Housing and Construction

Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a matte black anodized (MAO) finish. Weight is 190–191 g (6.7 oz) with dimensions of 87 × 49 × 39 mm (3.4″ × 1.9″ × 1.5″). Rated IP67 for submersion to 5 m for 30 minutes, with 1000 G vibration resistance. Working temperature range is −40°C to +51°C, storage −40°C to +65°C. The QD mount is integrated into the housing base, fitting Picatinny and Weaver rails without additional adapters or tools.

Controls and Operation

The rear rotary selector steps through four modes plus OFF:

1. Green LOW (< 1 mW)
2. Green HIGH (< 5 mW)
3. IR LOW (0.3 mW)
4. IR HIGH (< 0.7 mW)

The selector switches cleanly with gloves. The included Crane-plug tape/gel-pad remote cable switch mounts on the fore-end via Velcro or cable ties, delivering momentary activation without changing firing grip. Windage and elevation turrets use recessed 0.5 MOA/click adjusters within ±60 MOA travel — co-axial mechanics correct both channels with a single adjuster, protecting zero alignment between the visible and IR beams.

LS221G vs LE221-GR

The LS221G delivers the same dual-laser performance as the LE221-GR for users who do not require the titanium chassis or full IPX8 submersion rating.

Field Applications

Day-to-night transitions. Green HIGH (5 mW) provides 4–6× better daylight contrast than red at equal power — the preferred outdoor visible laser for bright conditions. IR LOW (0.3 mW) operates with digital NV clip-ons without saturating the image sensor.

Carbines, AR platforms, PDW. The 87 × 49 × 39 mm profile integrates on most fore-end configurations without conflicting with lights or grips. The integrated QD mount transfers between platforms without re-zeroing.

Nocturnal hunting. One daylight zeroing session on the green channel prepares the IR for night use. Battery life of 5,000 hours covers multiple seasons under typical field use.
