Holosun SCS-320-GR — Solar Charging Pistol Sight with Green MRS Reticle

The Holosun SCS-320-GR (Solar Charging Sight) is a dedicated enclosed reflex sight designed for direct mounting on the SIG Sauer P320 OR (Optics Ready) and DPP-footprint platforms without adapter plates. It combines a green MRS reticle (2 MOA dot + 32 MOA circle) with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery and Solar Failsafe panel, delivering effectively unlimited operating time under any ambient light source. At 38 g (1.35 oz) and a sight height of 26.9 mm, it is one of the lightest and lowest-profile enclosed pistol sights on the market, allowing standard-height iron sights to be used as emergency backup.

Housing and Construction

Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a matte black anodized finish. Weight is 38 g (1.35 oz) with dimensions of 47 × 29 × 27 mm. Rated IP67 (submersion to 1 m for 30 minutes) and validated to 5,000 G vibration resistance — significantly higher than the typical 1,000 G spec of rifle optics, reflecting the harsher recoil environment of direct pistol mounting. Working temperature range is −30°C to +60°C, storage −40°C to +70°C.

Optics and MRS Reticle

Multi-layer anti-reflective coated lenses with a 23×16 mm (0.90″×0.63″) window. Magnification 1×, unlimited eye relief, zero parallax. The sight functions with both eyes open.

Multi-Reticle System (MRS) — three selectable modes:

• 2 MOA dot — precise aiming at medium distances
• 32 MOA Circle — rapid target acquisition at close range. The 32 MOA diameter uniquely matches the size of a standard falling steel plate at 15 m in the BDS shotgun discipline — unlike the more common 65 MOA circles used by most competitors
• Circle-Dot — 2 MOA dot inside 32 MOA circle for universal use

Power System: Solar Failsafe + Built-in Rechargeable Battery

The SCS-320-GR uses a fundamentally different power architecture from conventional pistol optics. Instead of a user-replaceable CR2032, it incorporates a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is continuously charged by the integrated solar panel — the battery never needs to be removed or replaced.

• Without light: up to 20,000 hours of autonomous operation
• Under any light source (daylight, office fluorescent, indoor range lighting): effectively unlimited operating time
• Low battery indicator triggers days before the battery reaches critical level
• Solar Failsafe: automatically reduces LED intensity when entering shade to conserve charge; continues displaying the reticle in any ambient light regardless of battery state
• Override Mode: single button press forces brightness to levels 9–12 (depending on conditions) for 30 minutes — for use in strong daylight or when stronger visibility is temporarily needed

Technical Specifications

Mounting and Zeroing

The sight mounts directly to the SIG Sauer P320 OR slide with two T10 Torx screws. No adapter plate is required. The direct-mount design minimizes overall height and maintains the standard co-witness capability with factory-height iron sights at 26.9 mm sight line height. Windage and elevation are adjusted via recessed 1.5 MOA/click turrets within ±30 MOA travel using the included T10 key.

EDC and duty carry. At 38 g, the sight adds virtually no perceivable weight to the P320. The Solar Failsafe system eliminates battery-related operational risk — no tracking battery replacement schedules, no risk of a dead optic during a shift. Years of operation without any maintenance under normal carry conditions.

Dynamic shooting and IPSC. The 32 MOA circle aligns exactly with the size of BDS falling plate targets at 15 m — directly usable as a frame reference without mental calculation. Green at 540 nm is faster to acquire during sector changes and high-cadence shooting compared to red.

Indoor range training. The solar panel charges from standard range and office fluorescent lighting — no battery management required even with weekly high-volume training sessions.
