PULSAR Axion Compact XG30

The PULSAR Axion Compact XG30 is a compact thermal monocular designed for day and night observation, as well as use in reduced-visibility conditions such as fog, rain, humidity, and smoke. It features an uncooled 640x480 px sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch, an F30/1.2 objective lens, 2–16x magnification, and a detection range of up to 1300 meters.

Its wide 14.6 x 9.2° field of view supports fast terrain scanning, which is especially useful when checking woodland edges, open ground, dense vegetation, and moving heat sources at short to medium distances. The 50 Hz frame rate provides a smoother and more comfortable image when tracking movement.

The Axion Compact XG30 is designed for fast heat source detection and efficient observation at short and medium distances. Its 640x480 thermal sensor delivers improved detail on warm objects, while the 30 mm objective lens maintains a useful balance between field coverage and practical image detail for target assessment.

One of the key advantages of this model is its selection of 8 color palettes, which allow the image to be adapted to different terrain types, weather conditions, and observation tasks. White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are well suited for fast heat source detection, Rainbow and Ultramarine help separate contours and scene structure more clearly, while Red Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet are more comfortable for long observation sessions at night.

The monocular also supports 3 sensitivity gain levels, which are useful when field conditions change quickly. Combined with brightness, contrast, and image filtering adjustments, these settings help improve target separation in fog, after rain, in high humidity, and in situations where thermal contrast is weaker than usual.

At the base 2x magnification, the device works well for scanning wide sectors without losing awareness of the full scene. When more detail is needed, magnification up to 16x helps assess a heat source more precisely along forest lines, open fields, tracks, and areas with thicker cover.

The magnesium alloy housing offers better durability for regular outdoor use while keeping the unit lightweight. With dimensions of 144x41x69 mm and a weight of only 250 g without the battery, the XG30 remains practical for carrying in a jacket pocket, gear pouch, or chest rig.

The IPX7 waterproof rating supports operation in rain and wet environments during active field use. Built-in 64 GB memory is useful for storing photos and video, while Wi‑Fi connectivity and Stream Vision 2 support make it easier to connect the device to a smartphone and transfer recorded material.

For longer observation sessions, the Axion Compact XG30 can be mounted on a tripod via the standard 1/4" socket. Power comes from the replaceable APS 3 battery pack with 3200 mAh capacity and up to 7 hours of operation, while USB Type-C external power support adds flexibility for longer hunts, surveillance work, and overnight observation.
