The Holosun SCS-Carry-GR (Solar Charging Sight Carry) is a dedicated enclosed micro reflex sight built for direct mounting on subcompact and compact pistols using the Holosun-K (RMSc) footprint. Unlike most solar-equipped optics where the solar panel serves as a battery backup, the SCS-Carry operates on a solar-first architecture: the built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery serves as the energy buffer while the solar panel continuously charges it under any ambient light source. Under standard carrying conditions with daily exposure to light, the sight effectively never needs a battery service.
At 30 g (1.05 oz) and 41 × 24 × 25 mm, with a sight line height of only 13.2 mm, the SCS-Carry-GR is one of the most compact and lightweight enclosed pistol optics available for the RMSc class of platforms.
Housing and Construction
Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard anodized finish, nitrogen-purged for complete fog resistance. Weight is 30 g (1.05 oz) with dimensions of 41 × 24 × 25 mm (1.6″ × 0.98″ × 0.95″). Rated IPX8 — full submersion beyond IP67 standards. 5,000 G vibration resistance accounts for the harsh recoil impulse transmitted through direct pistol slide mounting. Working temperature range is −30°C to +60°C, storage −40°C to +70°C.
Optics and MRS Reticle
Aspherical glass lenses deliver zero image distortion with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings. Window size: 19.5 × 14.7 mm (0.77″ × 0.58″). Magnification 1×, unlimited eye relief, zero parallax. Both-eyes-open shooting without sight picture degradation.
Multi-Reticle System (MRS) — three selectable modes via single left-side button:
- 2 MOA dot — precise aiming point
- 32 MOA Circle — rapid close-range target acquisition; diameter matches a BDS falling steel plate at 15 m
- Circle-Dot — 2 MOA dot inside 32 MOA circle
Reticle color: green (540 nm) — the SCS-Carry is offered in green only; no red-dot variant exists for this model.
The internal battery provides 20,000 hours (~2.3 years) of autonomous operation with no light input at all. Under normal carry with daily ambient exposure, the battery is perpetually maintained. A blinking reticle serves as a low-battery warning well in advance of failure. No Shake Awake and no Last Setting Memory are needed — the sight is functionally always operational when light is available.
Override Mode: single button press forces brightness 2–3 levels above automatic for 30 minutes — for transitioning from shade to bright sun. A downward override is accessible the same way.
