Holosun LE221-GR Green/IR Tactical Laser Complex Weaver/Picatinny
Holosun LE221-GR — Co-Axial Dual Laser Aiming Device: Green + IR in Grade 5 Titanium
The Holosun LE221-GR is a professional dual-laser aiming device combining a 520 nm green laser (Class 3R) and an 830 nm IR laser (Class 1) in a co-axially mounted configuration within a Grade 5 titanium housing on a QD Picatinny mount. The co-axial emitter layout is the defining engineering feature: both lasers share a single zeroing mechanism, meaning one zeroing session on the visible green channel simultaneously aligns the IR beam — eliminating the separate zeroing procedure required for independent dual-unit setups.
Compared to the IRIS series (which adds a 60 mW IR illuminator as a third function), the LE221-GR is a pure dual-laser device — simpler to operate under stress, lighter on the rail, and less regulated in many EU jurisdictions where IR illuminators of that power class require additional permits.
Housing and Construction
Precision-machined from Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) with a matte black anodized finish. Weight is 195 g with dimensions of 87 × 45 × 34 mm (3.43″ × 1.77″ × 1.34″). Rated IPX8 for full water submersion and validated to 1000 G vibration resistance. The operating temperature range of −40°C to +51°C covers Arctic to desert conditions. The QD Picatinny mount allows fast, tool-free installation and removal while maintaining return-to-zero.
Laser System: Green + IR, Co-Axially Mounted
Green Laser (520 nm, Class 3R):
- LOW: < 1 mW (Class II) — indoor training and reduced signature
- HIGH: < 5 mW (Class 3R) — outdoor daylight visibility at 100+ m
- Beam divergence: 0.6 mrad
IR Laser (830 nm, Class 1):
- LOW: 0.3 mW — high-sensitivity NV devices and confined spaces
- HIGH: < 0.7 mW — standard field mode for Gen 1 / Gen 2 / Gen 3 and digital NV devices
- Beam divergence: 0.5 mrad
Both emitters are co-axially mounted — positioned as close together as mechanically possible to minimize parallax between the green and IR dots across all practical engagement distances. A single shared adjustment mechanism corrects both channels simultaneously: zero the green in daylight, and the IR is aligned for night operations without further adjustment.

Controls and Operation
The rear rotary selector steps through four operating modes plus OFF:
- Green laser LOW (< 1 mW)
- Green laser HIGH (< 5 mW)
- IR LOW (0.3 mW)
- IR HIGH (0.7 mW)
The top-mounted fire button enables momentary activation in any selected mode without touching the selector — a critical feature when the selector is set to IR and the user needs momentary green activation for quick target PID. The included Crane-plug remote cable switch mounts on the fore-end or pistol grip for activating the current mode without shifting grip. Recessed 0.5 MOA windage/elevation turrets use the included T10 key, protecting the zero from unintended field shifts.
Field Applications
Day-to-night continuity. The LE221-GR covers a full operational cycle without changing equipment: green laser for daylight targeting and green-channel zeroing, IR for night operations with any NV device. Mode changes take a single selector click.
Zeroing efficiency. Co-axial mounting means zeroing the green channel in daylight simultaneously aligns the IR beam. A single zeroing session at 25–50 m covers both channels — no separate NV-session zeroing required.
Hunting at dusk and night. Green HIGH (5 mW) outperforms red lasers by 4–6× in daylight contrast. IR LOW (0.3 mW) through digital NV clip-ons delivers a precise aiming dot without over-saturating the image sensor.
Carbines, PDW platforms, and tactical sport. The 87 × 45 × 34 mm body integrates cleanly on rails without conflicting with lights, foregrips, or sights. QD mounting allows rapid transfer between weapon systems without re-zeroing.
